Help will always be given at Hogwarts, Harry, to those who ask for it. I’ve always prized myself on my ability to turn a phrase. Words are, in my not so humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it. But I would in this case amend my original statement to this: help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who deserve it. Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living and, above all, those who live without love.

The truth is, I always knew, and this from really early on, that I was working towards the point where Hagrid carried Harry alive but supposedly dead out of the forest, always. I knew that we were always working towards the Final Battle at Hogwarts, I knew that Harry would walk to his death, I planned the “ghosts” coming back, that they would walk with him into the forest, we would all knew he was walking to his death and he would emerge in Hagrid’s arms, so that’s why I always kept Hagrid safe. […] And that was so perfect for me because it was Hagrid who came and took him into the world and Hagrid who would bring him back. x
